Jobs at Practically Green

Practically Green is growing and we're expanding our engineering team across our full web applications stack. We are looking to hire engineers and front-end developers who are interested in joining a funded, rapidly-growing (but still early-stage), consumer, web/mobile company.

All positions are on-site at our offices at Dogpatch Labs in Kendall Square, Cambridge. Principals only please.

Product Manager

The Pitch: Practically Green is growing rapidly, and we're looking for a product leader to be the voice of the customer and build out the product roadmap for our suite of products.

Us: We are a fast-growing company, run by smart, practical people. We believe that helping people live healthier and greener is a worthwhile cause -- and an attractive business opportunity. We have a great sales team, and happy, paying customers. We believe the best way to grow is to hire really good people and give them what they need to execute.

You: You have shipped product, and are a native in the mobile, social and web worlds of 2012.

You walk gracefully among business people, designers, software engineers and everyday consumers—speaking their languages, drying their tears and delivering them what they need, not just what they request.

You know the difference between Cocoa and Java, any maybe even the best organic brands of each.

You slice and dice metrics to design questions and find answers, not just to generate long reports and 3-D pie charts. You understand the difference between accuracy and precision, and that shiny != useful. You may have even named your cat Tufte.

Your emails are clear. Your presentations have fewer than ten words per slide.

You research with purpose, and run usability tests with empathy.

You ship. And tomorrow, you ship again.

You believe in green, and in helping people improve their lives. You believe in profit, knowing that a sustainable business is one that has top-notch people, products and markets. You are interesting, love to create useful things, and are fun to spend time with.

What you'll do: You will come in and take over the product roadmap for mobile, web and email. You will be joining a product and engineering team of five.

Our Environment and Tools: We're an agile shop on a Rails stack. We currently use Balsamiq, Github and Basecamp in the product flow, but you'd be able to pick your own tools.

What you'll get paid: This is a critical hire for us, so this position comes with market salary and equity.

To apply: please send a note to Susan Hunt Stevens, CEO (susan@) with your resume, links to your portfolio, sites you've worked on, and how you're going green in your own life.
